Improve Your Reading Pace with QuickReader

A mere online reading experience can be enriched with improving your reading pace if the right tool is at hand. Speed reading apps are such tools.
QuickReader, a popular ebook reader, is particularly designed to give you a faster reading experience. It’s compatible with iPad, iPod touch and iPhone, requiring version 5.0 or later.
The following is a brief review on QuickReader showing features, highlights and customization options.
QuickReader App: Features and Functions
Services: QuickReader is a customizable e-reader on the one hand and a tool to teach you to improve your reading pace, on the other. It integrates with Instapaper, to save web pages to read later, and iBookshelf. The format it supports is DRM-free ePub.
Get started:The QuickReader home page will take you to the following sections: Normal Reading, Guided Reading, Speed Test, and Settings. To gain a starting point, take a Speed Test to hone your skills accordingly, and speed up over time. Before reading, you will be notified of how long it will take to finish a certain chapter or an ebook.
Guided Reading takes its name from the guide that helps you to focus on separate words or group of words in a single highlight. The idea behind is that our eyes are naturally attracted to motion. This guide is created as an analog to traditional speed reading techniques, which employ a pen or a figure as a reading guide.
Usability: Pages flip automatically so you don’t have to tap on the screen to keep on reading. To stick to traditional way of turning pages, switch to Normal Reading. If you wish the QuickReader app to resume where you left off, click on “Restore on Startup”.

What can be customized in QuickReader?
Stops – Go to Settings to set words per minute and guide stops: “Stops per Line” or “Lines per Stop” (stops on more than one line at a time). This approach is grounded on the idea that we read much faster if our eyes concentrate on chunks of words, rather than moving from one word to another.
Margins – You can also adjust margins, choose a guide style, change text, page and guide colors using a pre-designed scheme or create your individual style in QuickReader. Font, font size and line spacing are also customizable. The brightness can be modified by swiping up and down on the screen instead of going to Settings whenever the need arises.
Desired Features Customer reviews suggest that the following features are highly desired, but not yet implemented: to be able to read Kindle, iBook, and Adobe books with QuickReader, and to look up words in a dictionary without using another app.
